The Syn-3 mail server provides optimal email communication within your existing corporate network. The server contains full mail server functionality: It is possible to deliver mail to the server directly.
This means you are no longer dependent on an Internet provider and email provider: The mail is delivered directly to your mail server and you have unlimited space. Through the Backup System you can backup all of your email to tape or to another computer.

- SMTP email server (qmail)
- POP3 and IMAP4 mailboxes (cyrus or Zarafa)
- Anti virus (Amavis + ClamAV)
- Intelligent spam-filter that adjusts automatically to your email-behavior.
- Online shared calendar + groupware webmail (Zarafa)
- Synchronization of email and appointments with IPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Microsoft Outlook (with Zarafa Z-Push)
- Reading external mailboxes. Also called POP3/IMAP connector. (Fetchmail)

Zarafa
SYN-3 version 4.3 and higher come with Zarafa by default. The number of SYN-3 users corresponds to the number of Zarafa users you can access with web access.
You only need Zarafa licenses if you want some additional functionality. For prices and information look at the Zarafa website.
Agenda and mail synchronization
Zarafa on SYN-3 can synchronize with the following devices, without additional software or costs:
- Windows Mobile-based devices
- Apple iPhone
- Nokia E-series
- Palm Treo 650, 680, 700
- Sony Ericsson P990, W950, M600
Synchronization with the following products is only possible with additional software and / or licenses:
- All versions of Microsoft Outlook: Zarafa Outlook connector. Free up to 3 simultaneous Outlook clients, after that you need additional Zarafa licenses.
- BlackBerry devices. A BlackBerry Enterprise Server and an Enterprise Zarafa license required.
